If you're using a computer to make and receive calls, then we strongly recommend using a microphone or interface that has a USB connector.  3.5mm jack connectors tend to give undesirable results.

Many professional microphones use an analog XLR connector, and so for these you'll likely require an audio interface or mixer with XLR inputs. Most professional audio interfaces use USB to connect to a computer.

Your choice of microphone and/or sound interface is crucial to achieving professional quality audio.
